There are two types of services the Cos Cob Fire Police Patrol offers the community: fire police services, and fire patrol services. While operating within the realm of our fire police services, our members assist the fire and police departments with traffic and scene control at fire department calls. Members operating under our fire patrol aspect conduct salvage operations inside burning structures to save the property of the family or business. The Cos Cob Fire Police Patrol also assists families and businesses with the dewatering of their structure either after firefighting operations or when rooms become flooded due to water piping breaks or high wetlands water levels. To participate in fire police work, you must pass the Town of Greenwich support physical exam to ensure you are healthy enough to operate traffic and scene control. To participate in fire patrol work you must pass the full Town of Greenwich entry tag health exam including stress test and must receive Firefighter I training (140 hours) within the State of Connecticut. Firefighter I classes are conducted by the Greenwich Fire Department annually as well as by fire departments in the surrounding area and is no cost to you. What are the required qualifications?
